I love working in watercolor. It allows me to explore two areas of art that fascinate me:
the power of light and the visual relationships of color. Light may model the objects in a
painting, but more important to me it creates a mood within the piece. Color relationships
also help to afford a mood when placed on the paper in strong contrasts, or gradual
blends. The transparent yet intense nature of watercolor paint gives me the opportunity
to continually examine these two elements.
Timeworn, man-made objects are often the focal point of my paintings. My subject matter
can also include people and animals in typical life settings. I particularly enjoy depicting
a moment in time captured during common, everyday activities.
I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I enjoy the process of creating it.
